Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced disruption to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
